Project Overview

Owned by Mahabubnagar Solar Parks Pvt. Ltd., (a subsidiary of First Solar Power India Pvt. Ltd.) the Solar Park is situated at Dhanwada Village of Mahabubnagar, which is approximately 150 km from Hyderabad in Telengana. Built on approximately 56 acres of land, the 10 megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) project is powered by 124,920 First Solar advanced thin film modules. It will displace 15,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions per year and provide energy to 16,500 average Indian homes. The power plant will supply electricity through the grid to the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telengana State Limited for a period of 20 years.

The project has been constructed by Mahindra Susten as the main EPC contractor and the solar park achieved commercial operations June of 2015.
