Project Overview

Situated on more than 195 acres of land in Pungnuru Chittor Distt, in Andhra Pradesh, sits the Hindupur Solar Park, a 40 megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power project.

Powered by 433,620 of First Solar's advanced thin film modules, it will produce approximately 80.58 GWh per annum of clean solar energy, which is enough energy to power 71,000 average Indian homes, displacing approximately 63,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions per year.

Commissioned in June of 2016, the project was constructed by Sterling & Wilson as the main EPC contractor. The power plant will supply electricity through the grid to the Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited for a period of 20 years.
