Our strategic objective is to reduce the cost of solar electricity to levels that compete with peaking conventional energy generation. With a commitment to sustainable product life cycle management and corporate responsibility, First Solar is creating enduring value everyday—socially, economically, and environmentally. 

To execute on our commitment and drive progress, First Solar has initiated a global Sustainability Program which addresses the three pillars of Sustainability. In 2013, First Solar started to report on a number of selected sustainability performance metrics including its manufacturing injury rate, energy and water use, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions.
