Project Overview

First Solar, a leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and provider of solar solutions, is developing a 300 megawatt (MW) PV solar farm in eastern San Bernardino County, California. When fully operational, the project will provide enough energy to serve the needs of about 90,000 average California homes, displacing approximately 165,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year—the equivalent of taking about 32,000 cars off the road. The Stateline Solar Farm is located two miles southwest of the California/Nevada state border on 2,114 acres of Federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

Stateline will create approximately 400 construction jobs. The project will also provide an indirect economic benefit to dozens of businesses in San Bernardino County, including engineering and design firms, construction subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers. First Solar plans on working with the County to ensure the benefits generated by the proposed Stateline Solar Farm will benefit the High Desert region whenever possible.
