Project OVERVIEW
Ontario's Sarnia Solar Farm is more than the 80MW solar-electricity producing facility it appears. True, it produces enough power to serve the needs of about 10,000 local homes annually. But a portion of the site also is home to a 100-acre tall grass prairie restoration project. The grasses, planted among the solar farm of 1.3 million First Solar PV modules, will create new habitats while increasing soil stability and water quality.
