PROJECT OVERVIEW
The 250 acres between the New Mexico towns of Springer and Cimarron now house about 490,000 First Solar thin film solar modules. Providing enough energy to serve the needs of about 9,000 average local homes, while simultaneously displacing 45,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually, the Cimarron Solar Facility is the largest of its kind built for an electric cooperative. First Solar acted as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, and will operate and maintain the facility over its lifetime.
