Performance Advantage

At temperatures above 25°C, First Solar modules produce more energy than competing solar modules due to a superior temperature coefficient.

This proven performance advantage provides stronger plant performance in high temperature climates, where more than 90% of a plant’s generation will occur when module temperatures are above 25°C—and First Solar modules have a proven performance advantage.

As a result of First Solar’s superior performance in high temperature and high humidity climates, First Solar power plants produce up to 9% more annual energy than competing power plants with the same nameplate capacity, providing bankable returns for our customers and partners.

With our Series 3 Black™ Module, we have made numerous advancements to increase long-term quality and reliability, as well as efficiency.

The Thresher and TUV Long-Term Sequential Tests go far beyond standard IEC certifications to test long-term performance that is more indicative of a 20+ year field operational life. Our Series 3 Black™ Module is one of only five modules in the world to pass both tests, indicating best-in-class performance and durability over the life of the system.
